One of the biggest mistakes you commonly see today is the types of websites you build.
One of the main reasons most beginning affiliates fail is that they do not start by building a quality website that will help their visitors based on the information they provide.
All they do is tell visitors to buy a certain product that they are promoting, without making it clear what benefits that product can bring, what solution it can provide and they make it clear that what they are interested in is selling and nothing else.
12 Minute Affiliate System is Beginner friendly and works well for anyone.
Here are the beginners 7 affiliate marketing mistakes to avoid in your site or blog.
1.- Transforming your site into a world of banners
One of the most common mistakes that affiliates make at the beginning is that in order to sell the products they promote, they fill their website with different banners and ads with little or no content. The reality is that, if you create your site this way you will hardly get a sale.
The best thing you can do is to provide a good experience to the visitor and give them quality content that is useful and solves a problem for them and not just sell to how of place.
2.- Not having your own domain name
When jumping into the world of affiliate marketing, it is important to keep in mind that this is a business and as such, it is necessary to protect it, make it grow and understand that every business needs an investment no matter how small. One of the most common mistakes of novice affiliates is not having a domain name of their own.
With your own URL, that is to say your own domain, not only will you look more professional in what you do, but you will also be able to upload anything you want to your site.
3.- The use of free website builders
While there are website builders on the internet that affiliates can use, my recommendation for ease, lots of explanatory material and templates that can be adapted to your needs, is to use WordPress.
You can use free or paid templates to build your site in WordPress. Avoid using free website builders.
4.- Not Creating a solution for your visitors
This is perhaps one of the biggest mistakes new members make when they start out.
The only goal they have is to make money at any cost, without considering helping people or caring too much about them, when in fact it should be the other way around.
As an affiliate your main concern should be to help the people who visit your site. That’s why you should ALWAYS offer quality content so that your visitors can find the solution to their problem.
It’s not just about selling. It’s offering a solution. The solution is to offer valuable information about the chosen market niche and the benefits that can be obtained with the product we promote.
Nobody buys a product if they are not interested in it. Your goal is to generate the interest for the person to buy. Imposing a purchase is not convenient.
5.- By not regularly updating your sites
For Google to consider you an authority site within the niche you chose and to position your website for the keywords you selected, you should always keep your website as up-to-date as possible. The more you update your site, the more visitors you will have and the better your positioning will be.
If possible, write between three to four articles per day at the beginning. Once Google begins to notice that it is adding content to your site on a regular basis, it will give your site more authority than other sites that only sporadically update it.
Many new affiliates believe that it’s just writing four articles and not doing anything else on the blog. Every blog you create is an asset you have on the internet and you must necessarily keep it updated and tailored to the needs of your visitors.
6.- Monetize your site with lots of advertising
I don’t think I’m the only one who’s seen places that bombard you with ads all the time. This has several drawbacks…
It’s annoying, slows down the loading of your website and makes the visitor run away as fast as possible.
Monetizing your website is good because it allows you to generate income but don’t overdo it because what you’re going to achieve is counterproductive.
7.- By not creating your subscription list
This is perhaps the most common mistake and the worst thing is that any affiliate, whatever their level of knowledge, can create their own list. Not having a list is losing potential customers. It is also one of the safest ways to generate trust and generate more trust is to generate more sales.
Many times the question is what information do we mail to our subscribers. You must send relevant information of the chosen niche, which provides value and obviously that is linked to the product you are promoting.
There is a very common phrase that says, “The money is in the list” and that is 100% true. Without a mailing list it is difficult to generate income online.
It will also allow you to have a closer relationship with your subscribers, offer them more products and be more aware of what they need.
I hope you avoid these mistakes, if you are starting out in affiliate marketing, as it will help you not only be a better affiliate, but also achieve success faster.
It’s going to take you as long to do things right as it does to do them wrong. Don’t rush to do everything. Follow a strategy, set a goal and define the steps you need to take. Setting a timeline is the best way to start in affiliate marketing. Define in that schedule the tasks to be done day by day and follow it. Avoid detours and you will start working in affiliate marketing like a professional.
