As we said, carpentry is the most common work in home and professional do-it-yourself. That’s why in this post we are going to give you 9 indispensable tricks to work the wood in an easier way.

Knowing some tricks to work with wood allows us to simplify processes and facilitate concrete work in our workshop.

 

Start the saw blade before cutting
The first woodworking trick we offer may seem obvious to you but on many occasions it is the main reason for wood damage. Before you start making any cuts with the jigsaw, it is advisable to set the saw blade in motion before rubbing the wood. This way you will avoid splitting it. Make sure that you have the wood well supported to isolate it from vibrations that could hinder the work.

Use the countersink
When it comes to DIY, it is quite common not to get rid of making holes in the wood. Although it may seem the easiest step, it is very normal to have unforeseen events when we reach this point in our projects. The best way to avoid mishaps with the wood is to use a countersink; this way you will remove the burr from the holes and help the screw head stay flush with the wood

Tricks for working with wood if it has knocks
Finally, imagine you discover that the wood you’re going to work with has a bump. Don’t worry, with a plank and some water you can work miracles. You just have to moisten the wood and put a cotton cloth on top. Moisten the wood with a little water and put a cotton cloth on top. Then, with the iron warm, go through it little by little during a couple of minutes. Then remove the iron and the cloth and you will see that the mark has disappeared.

Be careful when you make holes
When you’re about to make a hole in the wood, don’t risk damaging the rest of the objects around you. Don’t forget to always place a martyr so that the surface you are working on is not damaged.
